We build a private AI knowledge base so research teams get cited, trustworthy answers from their own work - and keep control of their data.
Why we built it
Research knowledge ends up scattered across PDFs, protocols, lab notebooks, shared drives, and people's memory. Finding what a group already knows is slow, and the answer often lives with whoever happened to run the experiment.
General-purpose AI tools make this worse in a specific way: asked about your research, they will confidently produce plausible-sounding answers that are not grounded in your actual documents. For research work, a fluent guess is not an answer - it is a risk. We built Researcher Center to turn a team's own documents into answers you can check, without sending sensitive data somewhere you would not choose.
What we believe
- Cited, or no answer. Every answer is grounded in your uploaded sources and shows its citations. When the evidence is not there, the system declines rather than guessing.
- Your data stays yours. Each team's data is isolated per tenant, and you decide where AI runs. We do not train on your documents.
- No provider lock-in. Run AI platform-managed (OpenAI), with your own key, or fully local and self-hosted - so the choice of model and the billing relationship stay yours.
- Honesty about limitations. We would rather be upfront than oversell. We document what the product does not do yet on our limitations page.

Where we are
We are early and transparent about it. Researcher Center works end to end today, and we are in an invite-only Early Access free trial, building alongside our first cohort of research teams. We are shipping in the open with them, taking their feedback directly, and documenting real constraints rather than hiding them.
