See the cited-answer workflow

The product should be judged by its behavior: whether answers are grounded in lab evidence, whether sources open cleanly, and whether unsupported questions are refused.

What to look for

  1. Ask a question in the language your lab already uses.
  2. Receive an answer grounded in the workspace's own documents.
  3. Open the citation and inspect the source evidence.
  4. See a clear refusal when the available corpus cannot support the question.

Question: What protocol did we use for the 2022 animal study?

Response: I could not find the protocol in the available sources. I found references to the study, but not enough evidence to identify the procedure. Add the protocol document or ask about the notes currently available.

  1. The workspace chat opens on a lab workspace holding that lab's own protocol documents.
  2. A researcher types the question “What temperature and time should the autoclave run at?” and selects Ask.
  3. The answer comes back grounded in the workspace corpus: the autoclave must run at 121 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes for complete sterilization, with a numbered citation marker attached to the claim.
  4. Selecting that citation opens the cited source, autoclave-protocol.md, and reveals the exact supporting passage the sentence was drawn from.

  3. The first row covers moist-heat sterilization at 121 degrees Celsius: the method column reads 121 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes and the finding is complete sterilization of labware.
  4. That row is marked as validated, because it is backed by evidence passages in the workspace corpus.
  5. The second row covers dry-heat sterilization at 160 degrees Celsius for two hours, a longer cycle suited to moisture-sensitive materials; it carries no evidence passages, so it is not marked validated.
